What's New - 2004!

 2004 Barn Hop!

Once again this year the AHCSEW held their progressive party to visit member’s farms and horses.  This year there were two farms participating, Camelot Farms of Ed and Terry Aromi and our own Columbia Stallion Station.

After starting at Aromi's for breakfast breads, fruit and drinks, visiting and viewing horses, the group moved to CSS. 2004 Annual Barn Hop

This year we set up a tent for cover from the noonday sun.  Only the old show horses had ever seen such a contraption, which created quite a sight for the unshown.  But they adapted with only one briefly retreating out of the arena.

The menu this year was picnic foods (brats in beer, sauerkraut, pasta salad and munchies).   While the folks munched away we had an opportunity to show off the stallions, this year's babies and previous foals of the 'boys'.

Each stallion had their own "highlight".

Primo with Chyrsti aboard did his usual thing with the extra-added attraction of trying to look everyone in the eye as he passed by the crowd.  He is all Arabian and 100% ham! Last year's filly, Tia, trotted her heart out along with her three-year-old half brother, a Region 5 Futurity Top 5, "Tu", were crowd pleasers.

Primo's "highlight" was the Chrysti's 2004 half-Arabian/Paint filly, Promise to Charm.  With markings almost identical to her mother's, Promise is her daddy's girl in personality.  After taking 12 months and 5 days to get here, she ended up being everything Chrysti had ordered.  Thanks again Primo for coming through!

Next was the surprise of the day!  Tortuga was presented under saddle to the public for the first time.  With trainer Tony Jackson aboard, he showed the motion he is known for in the buggy with even more style!  They surprised us all with a little bow at the end.  (Tony had only been working Tortuga for 8 rides at the time!)  We look forward to next season with plans for some shows!  You can contact him through this web page.  We will forward your name and phone number on to him.  Be watching for the boys in the ring in 2005!

Next came our two Tortuga daughter’s with their current year foals.  Another Hackney cross- ‘What It Is’ (better know as 'Izzy') and our first colt by Carumba , and the first grey, “Majestic Kid CK”!  An elegant gorgeous headed boy with the "trot" for the ring!

Moving on,  showing off the Carumba kid’s, we started with his first, “Exquissque CK”- Pam McCullough's pride and joy and Champion AOTH with Pam this year!  Congratulations to both of them and Carumba, too!

Next came the flaxen haired beauty, “Glorious CK”, out of the Primo daughter  LN Splendor.  “Glori” had a tough year growing, but has started coming into her own.  She is another example of the Carumba Look!  Check out her picture on the sales list.

Finally, came Ted's older halter mare Riva (Tortuga's full sister) and her 2004 filly by Carumba,  “Extreme Diva CK”.  Ole' Riva saw the crowd and fired up to her old snorty self, and her filly showed why we are so high on the Carumba crosses.  Pretty, bay, motion and snort!  We are all looking forward to Diva in the ring!

It was a fun day for all of us:  CSS Team Green, the folks who came to eat and enjoy the horses and the horses themselves!  We look forward to more parties in future years.  Keep checking our "What's New" for dates and times.
